A conversation with Yasmin Karimi on how she built her incredibly successful beauty brand

Yasmin Karimi is a two-time graduate, former lawyer, acclaimed makeup artist, television personality and founder & CEO of an established beauty brand and concierge service.

In early 2014 after realising her true passion Yasmin found the courage to leave the corporate rat race and focus all of her time and passion into her dreams.

The eponymous ‘Yasmin Karimi’ was established, and the rest, as she says, is history.

Yasmin believes in the power of social media, and places her trusts in the potential of platforms such as Instagram. Since the very early days of her business, she has always given her followers and community a glimpse into her personal life, sharing her journey of creating a product and thus establishing her brand. Six years later, her community has seen Yasmin grow and develop.

3. BUILDING A COMMUNITY

Yasmin had the support a wonderful following on instagram since the launch of her brand six years ago.

Her following and customer base interact with her and are involved via social media on a daily basis; she asks them questions about products that she is thinking of developing, and they drive the direction she then ultimately goes into. Feedback is important, as is incentivising your client base and community with giveaways and vouchers.

Yasmin says that it has always been her passion to build a beauty brand, and that she used to make DYI home made products from a very early age, making it her mission to launch an organic, herbal based brand.

Most organic beauty brands Yasmin knew of were always packaged in an incredibly boring way, so as a lover of all things luxury, she took to create products that look luxurious and beautiful enough to display in your home. She loves the use of colours, and has always been inspired by fun and unique brands and products. Her motto has always been to follow her vision.

With a purpose and a mission, running your business will make you happy and content. It is of course absolutely normal to feel a lack of motivation at times, especially when tension builds up. Yasmin says that she is always learning, listening and engaging which has become part of her daily ritual and gives her confidence to continue building her business.
